UN SDG Summit Advocacy

On the evening of Friday Sept 15th, 2023, Eat Differently was honored to have been an integral part of the first sanctioned drone show in the city of New York as 1,000 drones lit up the New York City sky above the United Nations building with a series of shows designed to inspire, educate, unify, and activate our local and global collective.

The event coincided with the start of the 78th United Nations General Assembly and the UN Secretary-General’s Climate Ambition Summit and Sustainable Development Goals (SDG’s) Summit, along with Climate Week. Eat Differently partnered with several organizations to send a strong message to world leaders—that eating plants, not animals will help address 11 of the 17 UN SDGs.

Our Eat Differently show featured several of the luminaries who are a part of our campaign as Gandhi, Albert Einstein, and Greta Thunberg were projected high above the East River in a multimedia spectacle that held UN delegates in awe and had New Yorkers running for their phones to share on social.

The show was directed by Academy Award-winning director of The Cove and Projecting Change CEO, Louie Psihoyos, with the support of Avaaz, The Ford Foundation, Fortescue, The Oceanic Preservation Society, Holtzman Wildlife, and TMRW, alongside production partners Nova Sky Stories, Minds Over Matter, Soren West, and HELO.
